Jeremy Kay Music Head Shot

About Jeremy Kay

Jeremy Kay is a California-born singer-songwriter whose sound blends rock, soul, folk, and pop into a style he often describes as “soul-folk.” Raised just outside San Diego in the small mountain town of Descanso, Jeremy grew up balancing quiet solitude with regular trips to the coast—an upbringing that continues to shape both his music and his laid-back California sensibility.

Jeremy’s musical journey began at an early age when his grandmother bought him an upright piano, sparking a lifelong passion for melody and songwriting. After discovering the guitar a few years later, he found his voice as a songwriter, drawing inspiration from classic rock, soul, and groove-driven music while developing a sound that feels both familiar and distinctly his own.

His self-titled debut album, released on Surfdog Records, brought his diverse influences together into a cohesive statement. Produced by David Darling, the record highlights Jeremy’s soulful vocals, thoughtful lyrics, and deep grooves, balancing upbeat, feel-good tracks with more intimate, reflective songs.

Jeremy’s music has been featured in popular television series including Real World, Boston Legal, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Smallville, and Scrubs, helping introduce his work to a broader audience. As a live performer, he has toured nationally, opening for Crosby, Stills & Nash and Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks, and sharing stages with artists such as Pat Benatar, Joan Osborne, and The Bangles.

Whether performing solo or with his band, Elemenopeas, Jeremy Kay delivers music that feels honest, warm, and rooted in connection—songs written for the heart, the soul, and the open road.
